Francesco Piemontesi takes the Swiss flag across the globe. In 2023, the former student of Alfred Brendel wowed audiences with his captivating residency and his finely nuanced performances. This summer, he returns – not only for a trio performance on August 3rd with Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Sol Gabetta but also for a solo recital that delves into two distinct ways composers revolutionised classical forms with complete freedom and flair: Schubert, who played with free-form structures in his fantasies and impromptus, and Liszt, who stretched the sonata form to its extreme boundaries.
