8 p.m., Church Saanen
A spectacular finale for the 70th edition of the Menuhin Festival Gstaad! The programme features a work that lay especially close to Yehudi Menuhin’s heart – a summit of Western music and, at once, Bach’s artistic and spiritual legacy: the Mass in B Minor. The masterpiece will be performed by one of the most exciting artists of the Anglo-Saxon Baroque scene, the British conductor Jonathan Cohen, who brings to Saanen his ensemble Arcangelo – a hand-picked chorus and orchestra that has captivated audiences around the world since 2010. Their acclaimed Hyperion recording from 2014 already set new standards.
