7:30 p.m., Church Saanen
In a symbolic and heartfelt gesture, Christoph Müller entrusts the final concert of his tenure as Artistic Director to his successor. Daniel Hope, a close friend of the Festival, returns to the Saanen Church – where Yehudi Menuhin’s influence first set him on the path to an extraordinary career – to mark this special moment with a performance. For this occasion, Daniel Hope has crafted a remarkable programme that takes us on a musical journey from classical to jazz. At its core is the bandoneon, an instrument as soulful as the music it inspires.
Daniel Hope, Violin
Joscho Stephan, Guitar
Omar Massa, Bandoneon
Stéphane Logerot, Double bass
Jacques Ammon, Piano
A surprise programme that highlights the connection between music and migration, spanning from classical and romantic pieces to jazz and tango, with the bandoneon – often seen as the 'instrument of migration' – at its core. | |
