Say à la carte – Origin I – Fazıl Say I
Chamber Music
Sunday, 20. July 2025
6 p.m., Church Saanen
Each of Fazıl Say’s concerts is a one-of-a-kind experience, full of surprises. More than just a virtuoso, the exceptional pianist and composer has a unique ability to reveal the deepest secrets hidden within music. A familiar face at the Festival, Fazıl Say knows the Saanenland like an old friend. This summer, as «Artist in Residence», his stay promises an especially immersive time in and around Gstaad, with three concerts that build in intensity – from solo to duo to quintet. His first performance takes the audience on a remarkable journey through time: from Scarlatti’s sparkling baroque miniatures, to Mozart’s most “Turkish” sonata of the Classical era (with its iconic “Alla Turca” finale), and finally to the fiery, dramatic heights of Beethoven’s “Appassionata” and its tempestuous flames of early Romanticism.
